Premium denim label J Brand was co-founded by denim manufacturer Jeff Rudes and former stylist Susie Crippen. The pair wanted to create simple, sexy, and sophisticated jeans focusing on a great fit for women to create a timeless, classic jean.
Susie, a former stylist, worked in the industry eight years before co-creating the J Brand line, working with major editorials including InStyle, GQ and Vanity Fair. She had a passion for denim and became knowledgeable In latest denim trends. Knowing what women want from a denim brand came from her close work with women on a one on one basis, her own classic, clean style fused together to create the J Brand ethos of clean pockets, classic dark washes and great fit.
Jeff was no stranger to denim production having previously created his first jeans brand in the late 70s with the Paris 2000 label, he went on to help US giants Abercrombie and Fitch re-design their own denim collection before pairing up with Susie to create their own premium denim line.
Launching in 2005, J Brand became a quick leader of the premium denim market proving a hit with not only A-List celebrities but also top fashion editors of some of the leading fashion magazines who could not get enough of the clean and classic jeans brand.
