Bloc28 by Disney
Author: Darren Ezekiel | June 18th, 2009The idea for Bloc28 started 3 years ago by introducing non traditional media like murals, graffiti and street art to the world of Disney. Many of the artists used were inspired by Disney characters as kids so this gave them the opportunity to interpret Mickey in their own way.
The art based bloc28 is produced in a traditional way on canvas and board in comparison to the Photoshop or computer based modern art. The idea was always to have new pieces of actual art to add to the long list of artist who have worked with Disney like Dali.
All of the artists used had their own unique and imaginative style but with one key interest to take their street art to a broader audience. Each design in the series one and series two collections tell a story that reflects the artist background and dedication to art.
The plan is continue to expand the brand by finding artists from all walks of lives, which will keep the project rooted and enable the iconic Disney character Mickey to be seen in a different light.
The Bloc28 appeal is to appreciate the arts and secondary for contemporary artists to work with an art company like Disney.
